Something worth mentioning is that long, flowy dresses and skirts look amazing on camera as they add movement to your clothing that tends to be very flattering and natural-looking.

Fabrics and layers

Just as the reason above about choosing soft colors, for the same reason, it's a good idea to avoid very eye-catching patterns since they will steal attention and there is a chance that the pictures will feel a bit messy.

Avoid disturbing patterns

Using soft colors removes distractions, and the feelings between you and your fiancé will be the central part of the pictures.

Color Palettes

This is up to you, but feel free to choose two outfits. One that is more dressy and one that is more casual. This is a perfect way to get a variation of your engagement photos that can be used for different purposes.

And having a more dressy outfit doesn't mean you have to come dressed like you are ready to go to the prom.
It's easier to think of a more formal dress and one you could have on a date night.

I also recommend starting with the casual one, as this outfit will most likely make you feel more relaxed and comfortable.

During your change, I will take some close-ups of the engagement ring.

Bring two outfits

Two Outfits

A perfect way to spoil yourself is to get your hair and make-up professionally done. It also removes the stress of getting ready when you are probably already nervous before your session.

It's also a perfect chance to prepare yourself before your big day. Just feel and know how it will feel, as there is no going back on your wedding day. This gives you a chance to make sure you will love your look before

Another important thing is to get your nails done, as your hands, especially your ring, will get attention during your engagement session.
This is important for your finacé as well.
Please ensure that he has been at the hairdresser a few days before and that his beard and nails are groomed.

If you feel uncomfortable, you will look uncomfortable; that is nothing that can be fixed afterward.

Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable

Don't be afraid to express your style. Remember that the more confident you feel, the better your photos will turn out. Accessories can be a lot of help when it comes to this. Bring them on, or show up only with your sparkling engagement ring.

Accessories and jewelries

This is the less complicated part. No one wants to freeze or look too warm. Or if the location is the beach, barefoot works better than stilettos.

Dress for the season and location

Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable

This is mainly written for your fiancé. Cellphones, keys, and other items are nothing we want to see through the pockets.

Empty your pockets

Dress for the season and location

For him

There is no general rule, but if you plan to use the pictures for "save-the-date" cards or on your wedding website, the best time is around 10-9 months before your wedding.

When is the best time?

We will together find a great location. Some locations may be more suitable than others, but we can explore all possibilities. If you have any ideas or places that hold a special meaning for you as a couple, let's discuss them.

Where will we be?

This is an ideal chance for us to get to know one another a little better. It will also help you feel more at ease in front of the camera on your wedding day. Additionally, if you plan to send out "save-the-date" cards, these photos will be of great use.

The benefits?

Should feel like the date that never ends

Your engagement session

First Look

Choosing to do a first look gives you a chance to have a moment just for yourself before the wedding day starts. It provides an opportunity to relax and calm the nerves before the big moment.
Having portraits taken at this moment of the day also means that makeup, hair, and flowers are fresh and
If not doing a first look, the portraits are usually taken during the cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception.

Difficult to decide?

Do you have difficulty choosing between the first look and the aisle reveal? Let us talk; I've had solutions in between when couples have to share a moment where they exchange letters, hold hands, or pray together without seeing each other.

Advices from me when planning your day

the Timeline

Family Formals

Photo locations

When planning your timeline, please consult with me; too often, I have experienced very tight timelines, and photos are taken in a rush,
The time your portraits are taken is not only pictures taken, but it's also a moment during the day when you can enjoy each other as a couple. It will be moments of your day you will remember, and that is nothing that should be rushed by.

Depending on your wedding size, the list of constellations for photos with family members can be very long and time-consuming.
Before putting the list together, choose the ten most important pictures to be taken. And think twice if all others really are needed. Depending on your timeline, I'm more than happy to let you know how to make as many of them as possible.

I have many years of experience when it comes to taking photos. Many factors determine a good picture, and the locations as picked are essential for achieving the end result both you and I want.
I kindly ask you to respect my photo locations.
If you wish to have pictures taken at a specific place, please let me know beforehand, and we can discuss to see if it's doable on your wedding day.
